SHEFA Foundation
Strengthening communities for an abundant life
We work with rural communities on sustainable farming, education, health, inclusion and the environment, so that every family can live a fuller, more secure life.
Who we are
SHEFA Foundation was formally established on 15 June 2026 as a non-profit Section 8 company. Through our programmes and interventions, we aim to promote and strengthen communities so they can lead abundant lives. By providing social support and essential facilities, we help communities live their lives to the fullest. We develop practical solutions and guidance to improve current ways of living and strengthen sustainability.
Core values
Vision
Promoting and strengthening communities to abundant life.
Mission
To build thriving, sustainable rural communities through unity, practical action and long-term commitment.
We work alongside people, not apart from them, so that every community can grow stronger, healthier and more self-reliant.
Six focus areas
Our programmes follow the objectives set out in our Memorandum of Association.
Rural livelihoods & sustainable farming
Support for farmers, self-help groups and rural entrepreneurs, with natural farming, permaculture, seed banks, seed villages, grain banks and tree plantation.
Education & skills
Formal, non-formal and professional learning, partnerships with reputed institutions, scholarships and youth leadership programmes.
Health, nutrition & sanitation
Awareness and outreach on health, nutrition and sanitation, especially for underserved communities.
Inclusion & empowerment
Programmes for women, youth, persons with disabilities and marginalised groups, with human rights awareness and cultural development.
Environment
Conservation awareness, ecological balance and responsible waste management.
Disaster relief
Relief, rehabilitation and humanitarian help during natural or man-made calamities, and support for community rebuilding.
Three principles guide every programme
Unity
We bring farmers, women, youth and local institutions together, so communities plan and act as one.
Practical action
We focus on solutions people can use now: better farming methods, skills, health awareness and access to essential services.
Long-term commitment
We stay with communities over years, not months, so that change lasts after a programme ends.
